What are the member benefits with the Comprehensive Media Contract?

The Comprehensive Media Contract includes three distinct features:

1. A Lending Library containing thousands of titles;
2. Online video streaming over the Internet of over 1,500 titles with CaliforniaStreaming;
3. Duplication and closed broadcast rights for the RETAC instructional video collection, which includes teacher guides.

The Lending Library can be described as a traditional library service - except with unlimited access to cutting-edge technology resources such as CD-ROMs, videos, and DVDs. Members may order media online, or via phone, email, or fax. The selections are delivered to the member via intra-district mail or UPS and may be kept for a defined period of time before returning.

Comprehensive Membership also provides video on-demand via the Internet from CaliforniaStreaming, a collaborative effort of twenty-four county offices of education in California. CaliforniaStreaming provides teachers and students with instructional video titles wherever they have Internet access, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thousands of multimedia clips and images allow teachers and students copyright compliant material for presentations and projects.
